Behind Flavor File
Hi, I’m Mia Oku!

Mia’s Flavor File began as a way for me to collect the meals my husband and I love, so I could easily return to them whenever I needed inspiration or forgot what I did the first time. Let’s be honest, sometimes a meal comes out amazing, and then you can’t remember a single thing you added!
Now, I’m excited to share those recipes and ideas with you. Whether you are brand new to cooking and need beginner-friendly guidance, or you are an experienced cook looking for fresh inspiration, welcome to my page.
Mia’s Flavor File will continue to grow as my husband and I try new meals, discover new flavors, and create memories in our home. Have an idea, a suggestion, or simply want to chat? Feel free to send me a message.
I’m so excited for the food journey we’ll be taking together. And remember, the secret ingredients are always love and Adobo 😉

What you need
- 4 small frozen corn cobs
- GOYA VERSION
- Butter, for brushing after cooking
- 1 tsp Goya Adobo
- ½ packet Goya Sazón with Coriander and Annatto
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp smoked or regular paprika
- Optional: fresh lime juice
- MEXICAN-STYLE VERSION
- 4 tbsp melted butter total, or olive oil for a lighter version
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp chili powder, optional
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt and ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1–2 tbsp grated Parmesan
- Fresh lime juice
- Optional: fresh cilantro or parsley
Cooking timeline
- 0:00Preheat
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F if you normally preheat it.
- 0:03Choose your version
For the Goya version, place the corn in frozen and season after roasting. For the Mexican-style version, brush the frozen corn with melted butter or olive oil, then season with smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 0:04Arrange
Place the frozen corn in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- 0:11Turn halfway
Turn the corn after about 7–9 minutes so it roasts evenly.
- 0:16Finish cooking
For the Mexican-style version, cook 12–15 minutes total. For the Goya version, cook 14–18 minutes total. The corn should be hot, roasted, and lightly charred.
- 0:19Finish the Goya version
Brush the hot corn with butter, then season with Adobo, Sazón, black pepper, and your choice of smoked or regular paprika. Finish with a squeeze of lime.
- 0:19Finish the Mexican-style version
Sprinkle Parmesan over the hot corn so it melts slightly, then squeeze lime over the top. For more melted, roasted cheese, return the corn to the air fryer for 1–2 minutes. Finish with cilantro or parsley if using.
Trust Me on This: Cook it straight from frozen. The Goya version gets seasoned after roasting, while the Mexican-style version gets buttered and seasoned before it goes in.
