Behind Flavor File
Hi, I’m Mia Oku!

Mia’s Flavor File began as a way for me to collect the meals my husband and I love, so I could easily return to them whenever I needed inspiration or forgot what I did the first time. Let’s be honest, sometimes a meal comes out amazing, and then you can’t remember a single thing you added!
Now, I’m excited to share those recipes and ideas with you. Whether you are brand new to cooking and need beginner-friendly guidance, or you are an experienced cook looking for fresh inspiration, welcome to my page.
Mia’s Flavor File will continue to grow as my husband and I try new meals, discover new flavors, and create memories in our home. Have an idea, a suggestion, or simply want to chat? Feel free to send me a message.
I’m so excited for the food journey we’ll be taking together. And remember, the secret ingredients are always love and Adobo 😉

What you need
- 4 cups arugula
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1–2 tsp balsamic glaze
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp black pepper
- Optional: ½–1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
Cooking timeline
- 0:00Wash
Place the arugula in a colander and rinse thoroughly under cold water.
- 0:03Drain
Drain the arugula well and shake off the excess water. It does not have to be completely dry, just not dripping wet.
- 0:06Build the salad
Place the arugula in a bowl and add the sliced strawberries if using.
- 0:08Dress
Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and black pepper, and toss gently. Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the top right before serving.
Trust Me on This: The arugula can still be slightly damp after washing. Just shake off the excess water, then add the balsamic glaze last so it stays glossy.
