Behind Flavor File
Hi, I’m Mia Oku!

Mia’s Flavor File began as a way for me to collect the meals my husband and I love, so I could easily return to them whenever I needed inspiration or forgot what I did the first time. Let’s be honest, sometimes a meal comes out amazing, and then you can’t remember a single thing you added!
Now, I’m excited to share those recipes and ideas with you. Whether you are brand new to cooking and need beginner-friendly guidance, or you are an experienced cook looking for fresh inspiration, welcome to my page.
Mia’s Flavor File will continue to grow as my husband and I try new meals, discover new flavors, and create memories in our home. Have an idea, a suggestion, or simply want to chat? Feel free to send me a message.
I’m so excited for the food journey we’ll be taking together. And remember, the secret ingredients are always love and Adobo 😉

What you need
- 1 bunch asparagus
- 6–8 slices thin bacon
- Olive oil
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Garlic powder, optional
Cooking timeline
- 0:00Preheat
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- 0:05Wrap
Divide the asparagus into bundles of 2–3 spears. Wrap each bundle with one slice of bacon.
- 0:10Season
Place the bundles on a baking sheet, drizzle lightly with olive oil, and season with black pepper and optional garlic powder.
- 0:12Bake
Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the asparagus is tender and the bacon is crisp.
Trust Me on This: Thin bacon works best here because it gets crispy while the asparagus stays tender. If it needs more color, broil for 1–2 minutes and watch it closely.
