Behind Flavor File

Hi, I’m Mia Oku!

Mia Oku, creator of Mia’s Flavor File

Mia’s Flavor File began as a way for me to collect the meals my husband and I love, so I could easily return to them whenever I needed inspiration or forgot what I did the first time. Let’s be honest, sometimes a meal comes out amazing, and then you can’t remember a single thing you added!

Now, I’m excited to share those recipes and ideas with you. Whether you are brand new to cooking and need beginner-friendly guidance, or you are an experienced cook looking for fresh inspiration, welcome to my page.

Mia’s Flavor File will continue to grow as my husband and I try new meals, discover new flavors, and create memories in our home. Have an idea, a suggestion, or simply want to chat? Feel free to send me a message.

I’m so excited for the food journey we’ll be taking together. And remember, the secret ingredients are always love and Adobo 😉

What you need

  • ¼ cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp pesto
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 to 2 tsp water, if needed to thin

Cooking timeline

  1. 0:00
    Combine

Add the Greek yogurt, pesto, lemon juice, garlic powder, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes to a small bowl.

  2. 0:02
    Mix

Stir until smooth and fully combined.

  3. 0:03
    Adjust

Add 1 tsp water at a time if needed until the sauce reaches your preferred consistency.

  4. 0:05
    Serve

Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve, then spoon or drizzle over warm meatballs.

Trust Me on This: Add the water slowly. You can always thin the sauce more, but you cannot take the water back out once it is too runny.
