Behind Flavor File
Hi, I’m Mia Oku!

Mia’s Flavor File began as a way for me to collect the meals my husband and I love, so I could easily return to them whenever I needed inspiration or forgot what I did the first time. Let’s be honest, sometimes a meal comes out amazing, and then you can’t remember a single thing you added!
Now, I’m excited to share those recipes and ideas with you. Whether you are brand new to cooking and need beginner-friendly guidance, or you are an experienced cook looking for fresh inspiration, welcome to my page.
Mia’s Flavor File will continue to grow as my husband and I try new meals, discover new flavors, and create memories in our home. Have an idea, a suggestion, or simply want to chat? Feel free to send me a message.
I’m so excited for the food journey we’ll be taking together. And remember, the secret ingredients are always love and Adobo 😉

Show:
What you need
- 1 lb ground lamb, ground beef, or ground sausage
- 1 tsp Goya Adobo
- 1 tsp Goya Perfect Seasoning
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ packet Goya Sazón with Coriander and Annatto
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper
- Vegetable of your choice, for serving
Cooking timeline
- 0:00Season
Add the ground meat to a skillet and season with Adobo, Goya Perfect Seasoning, turmeric, paprika, Sazón, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne.
- 0:03Brown uncovered
Cook uncovered over medium to medium-high heat, breaking the meat apart, until browned and fully cooked. Let the moisture cook off naturally and drain excess grease only if needed.
- 0:15Taste + finish
Taste and adjust the seasonings. Serve with a vegetable for the regular weeknight meat-and-vegetable plate.
Trust Me on This: Same seasoning lineup, different meat. Use enough cayenne to make it taste like home.
