Behind Flavor File

Hi, I’m Mia Oku!

Mia Oku, creator of Mia’s Flavor File

Mia’s Flavor File began as a way for me to collect the meals my husband and I love, so I could easily return to them whenever I needed inspiration or forgot what I did the first time. Let’s be honest, sometimes a meal comes out amazing, and then you can’t remember a single thing you added!

Now, I’m excited to share those recipes and ideas with you. Whether you are brand new to cooking and need beginner-friendly guidance, or you are an experienced cook looking for fresh inspiration, welcome to my page.

Mia’s Flavor File will continue to grow as my husband and I try new meals, discover new flavors, and create memories in our home. Have an idea, a suggestion, or simply want to chat? Feel free to send me a message.

I’m so excited for the food journey we’ll be taking together. And remember, the secret ingredients are always love and Adobo 😉

What you need

  • 1 whole bag frozen broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp adobo
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Finishing glaze: 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp maple syrup, ½ tsp sesame oil, and ⅛ tsp red pepper flakes

Cooking timeline

  1. 0:00
    Preheat

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 3–4 minutes.

  2. 0:04
    Season

Toss the frozen broccoli with olive oil, Adobo, garlic powder, and black pepper. Arrange it in as close to one layer as possible.

  3. 0:04
    Air fry

Air fry at 400°F for 14–17 minutes. Shake the basket at the 8-minute mark, then continue until the centers are tender and the edges are roasted.

  4. 0:18
    Sauce immediately

Mix the soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Toss it with the broccoli immediately after it comes out of the air fryer.

Trust Me on This: Add the sauce immediately while the broccoli is piping hot so every piece gets coated. If the stems need to be softer, microwave them covered with 1 tbsp water for 45–60 seconds before serving.
