Behind Flavor File
Hi, I’m Mia Oku!

Mia’s Flavor File began as a way for me to collect the meals my husband and I love, so I could easily return to them whenever I needed inspiration or forgot what I did the first time. Let’s be honest, sometimes a meal comes out amazing, and then you can’t remember a single thing you added!
Now, I’m excited to share those recipes and ideas with you. Whether you are brand new to cooking and need beginner-friendly guidance, or you are an experienced cook looking for fresh inspiration, welcome to my page.
Mia’s Flavor File will continue to grow as my husband and I try new meals, discover new flavors, and create memories in our home. Have an idea, a suggestion, or simply want to chat? Feel free to send me a message.
I’m so excited for the food journey we’ll be taking together. And remember, the secret ingredients are always love and Adobo 😉

Show:
What you need
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
- 2 fresh garlic cloves, finely grated
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 2 tsp white vinegar
- ¼ tsp Adobo
- ⅛ tsp cumin
- Black pepper, to taste
- Tiny pinch cayenne
- 1 to 2 tsp water, if needed
Cooking timeline
- 0:00Combine
Add the olive oil, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, white vinegar, Adobo, cumin, black pepper, and cayenne to a small bowl.
- 0:03Mix
Stir well until everything is evenly combined.
- 0:05Adjust
Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of water if you want a slightly thinner sauce.
- 0:07Rest
Let the sauce sit for about 10 minutes so the flavors can blend.
- 0:17Serve
Stir again and spoon over sliced steak before serving.
Trust Me on This: Letting the sauce sit for 10 minutes makes a real difference. It gives the garlic, lime, herbs, and spices time to come together instead of tasting separate.
